INTRODUCING THE SMART HELMET CLIP

A Workplace Tool for safer productivity

Every miner deserves to go home after work, alive and proud of what they accomplished that day. But over the past decade, there have been 337 critical injuries and 24 fatalities in Ontario's Mining Sector alone. Every incident comes at a cost. An injury incident in Canada costs between $80-100K. A fatality can cost millions. More importantly, an injury can hurt a family and the community around them.

PRODUCT FEATURES: FIT FOR PURPOSE

People are at the core of your production numbers. Every shift affects the bottom line. You can't afford to waste time when things change in the mine, and things always change in the mine. You need a tool that's built tough and gets your worker's attention. You need something that can leverage all the digital infrastructure that you're investing in.

1

LIGHTWEIGHT
BRIM-MOUNTED Design

The Smart Helmet Clip mounts under the brim of standard-issue hardhats, making large scale deployments simple and cost effective. The lightweight design ensures workers don't get fatigued after a long 12-hour shift.

2

BUILT FOR MINING ENVIRONMENTS

Large, tactile buttons are designed for easy, accurate operation with gloved hands and are backlit with durable, long-life LEDs to quickly get a miner's attention when deep underground.  A removable hub can function as a standalone communications module to facilitate additional communication interactions.

3

MODULAR
SENSOR ARRAY

A unique modular design allows you to select which environmental sensors to install.  The range of real-time, responsive sensing capabilities provides the worker a complete safety assessment of their work environment at all times.  We offer this flexible, customizable platform because every worker and every job is different.

4

COMMUNICATIONS
READY

The intelligently designed architecture supports a broad range of wireless communication platforms and services for above ground and below ground work sites.  All communication protocols can also be used to determine accurate worker location tracking in any environment at any time

5

AUGMENTED INTERACTION

Using simple on-board hardware, the Smart Helmet can augment the worker's capabilities to improve their efficiency and allow work operations to accurately monitor task progress.  Positional sensors facilitate gesture based communications and a digital camera can be used to stream video for task analysis and remote support.

6

INTEGRATES WITH YOUR SYSTEMS

Track real-time locations and build harmful exposure profiles for everyone on site. Integrates other information from your existing systems with the Connected Worker Platform.

“We’re breaking new ground with this connected mining solution. The technology combines a seamlessly integrated wearable with open platform software and predictive analytics to dramatically improve mining productivity and safety.”
In order for any product to be of use, it must be adopted by and complement the lifestyle and work-flow of the end-user. That is what human-centred design is all about — just ask the miner’s to wear their hard-hats and the Smart Helmet works.
