About Leikr
The Leikr GPS sport watch is designed for accessible, realtime functionality through WiFi connectivity and a propriety Linux based operating system. Through the integration of the OpenStreetMap project, an open source database of maps accessible through satellite navigation devices, the watch displays the user's position, route, and track on a two inch colour screen, and is zoomable to five levels. A high-sensitivity GPS receiver tracks the user's pace, speed, distance, heart rate, and calories burned. These metrics can then be wirelessly uploaded to one of several online athletics communities, which include Endomondo, Strava, and MapMyRun. Through these online communities users may share and configure their work out statistics, as well as download running maps. The watch also includes ANT+ connectivity, which makes it pair-able with other ANT+ enabled sports devices such as heart monitors, foot pods, and speed sensors.
